Coach Douaine Anderson
Club Director & Lead Skills Development Trainer Douaine Anderson is a highly experienced and versatile coach who not only founded, but has dedicated 15 years to SLAM! basketball club. Douaine's impressive range of roles within the organization showcases his deep commitment and multifaceted expertise. As the Founder and Managing Director, he has played a pivotal role in shaping the club's vision and growth. Douaine's coaching journey has seen him serve as Head Coach, Referee, Table Official, and Team Manager, demonstrating his comprehensive understanding of the game and his ability to lead and support teams both on and off the court. Alongside his administrative responsibilities, Douaine has an extensive playing background. He has competed at various levels, including the Wolverhampton Wizards in the West Midlands Men's League, the NCAA Divisions while representing Wilmington College and Franklin Pierce University, and the Birmingham Bullets and Worcester Wolves in the British Basketball League (BBL). Such diverse experiences have equipped him with a wealth of knowledge and a deep understanding of the game from different perspectives. Douaine's educational qualifications further enhance his coaching prowess. He holds a Post Graduate Certificate in Education with a specialization in Secondary Mathematics from the City of Wolverhampton University. Additionally, he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics from Franklin Pierce University. Douaine has also acquired Level 2 certifications in Basketball Coaching, Table Officiating, and Refereeing, showcasing his dedication to continuous professional development. Outside the basketball realm, Douaine finds passion in athletics, and his favourite athlete is the legendary Michael Jordan. Coach Daniel Hollihomes
Under 18s & Academy Head Coach Daniel Hollyhomes is an emerging coach making a significant impact within SLAM! basketball club. Within his two years of coaching for SLAM!, Daniel has already taken on leadership roles as the Head Coach of St. Peter's SLAM! Academy 1st Team, the Team SLAM! Under 18 National League Team, and the Team SLAM! Men's Team. Daniel's playing background includes valuable experience with the SLAM! YBL Men's Team, Albion Local League Men's Team, and university-level competition in Worcester (UK) and Minnesota (US). This diverse playing experience has provided him with a well-rounded understanding of the game. Daniel's higher education journey includes a Joint Honours Degree in Sports Coaching Science and Sports Development from Worcester University in 2014. He further expanded his qualifications with a Certificate in Education Degree from Wolverhampton University in 2022. Additionally, Daniel holds a Basketball Coaching Level 2 Qualification (2015) and a Basketball Refereeing Level 1 Qualification (2016), demonstrating his commitment to professional development and enhancing his coaching abilities. Coach Watson Chirara
Club Director & Under 14 Head Coach Introducing Watson Chirara: a dedicated coach with a longstanding commitment to SLAM! basketball club. Since 2008, Watson has played various roles within the organisation, including player, development coach, academy head coach, under 13s assistant coach, and table official. Watson's playing experience includes representing Wolverhampton SLAM! in the West Midlands Men's League, Wolverhampton University in BUCS, and the YBL Men's League. In his current involvement with SLAM!, Watson contributes as a head coach for the Under 13s team, actively participating in their development sessions. Additionally, he fulfils table officiating duties, ensuring smooth game operations. Academically, Watson has pursued a journey of continuous learning. He is on the path to completing a Professional Doctorate in Education at the University of Wolverhampton. He holds a Master of Arts degree in Education (2019), a Post Graduate Certificate in Education specialising in Secondary Design and Technology (2015), and a BSc in Architectural Visualization (2012). Watson has obtained notable coaching and officiating qualifications, including a Level 2 certification in Basketball Coaching and Level 2 certifications in Basketball Table Officiating. Outside of basketball, Watson finds enjoyment in the sport of boxing. His favourite athlete is LeBron James, celebrated for his longevity and exceptional performance at an elite level in a sport brimming with superstar talent. With his extensive coaching experience, educational background, and commitment to personal and professional development, Watson Chirara brings immense value to SLAM! His dedication to player development, knowledge of the game, and passion for basketball contribute to his role as an influential mentor and guide for aspiring athletes within the club.
Coach Kofi Ruddock
Under 15s Head Coach & Men's Co-coach Introducing Kofi Ruddock: a dedicated coach and player with 9 years of experience at SLAM! basketball club. Kofi's involvement within the organisation has been diverse, starting as a player and evolving into a players supporter and coach. Kofi's playing journey at SLAM! has been remarkable, progressing from the under 11s level all the way up to the Men's team. During his university years, he also played for Walsall Warriors in the Local League Division Two while attending Birmingham City University. Currently, Kofi plays for the Team SLAM! Men's YBL team, where he contributed to their victory in Division Two. He also takes on coaching responsibilities, leading the U15s to success in the lower division of their category. Furthermore, Kofi coaches the 2nd team for the Team SLAM! Academy, based at St. Peter's. Academically, Kofi holds a First-Class Honours degree in Business Management from Birmingham City University. He has plans to further his education by pursuing a PGCE (teacher training) in Physical Education starting in September 2023. Outside of basketball, Kofi's favourite sport is rugby, showcasing his passion for various athletic pursuits. His favourite athlete is Rajon Rondo, known for his skills and leadership on the basketball court. With his extensive experience as both a player and coach, Kofi Ruddock brings valuable insights and a strong understanding of the game to SLAM! His dedication to continuous learning and passion for basketball make him an exceptional mentor for athletes within the club.
Coach Ethan Milosorov
U16s Head Coach & Men's Co-coach Introducing Ethan Milovsorov: a dedicated individual with extensive experience as both a player and coach within SLAM! basketball club. With approximately 13 years of involvement, Ethan has made significant contributions to the team. Ethan's playing experience includes competing in the national league for SLAM! and a brief stint with the Shropshire Warriors. This exposure to competitive basketball has shaped his understanding of the game and enhanced his skills. Currently, Ethan remains actively engaged with SLAM! in dual capacities as a coach and a player. His coaching expertise and first hand playing experience make him a valuable asset to the team, allowing him to provide comprehensive guidance and support. Academically, Ethan pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Fine Art from Birmingham City University, and he is eagerly awaiting the result of his studies. Additionally, he holds a Level 2 coaching qualification, demonstrating his commitment to professional development and enhancing his coaching abilities. Outside of basketball, Ethan's favourite sport is not specified, leaving room for personal exploration and diverse athletic interests. Similarly, his favourite athlete is Michael Jordan, allowing for individual inspiration and admiration. With his extensive experience, dedication to both playing and coaching, and ongoing pursuit of personal and professional growth, Ethan Milovsorov brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to SLAM! Jasmene Anderson
Communication Officer Meet Jasmene Anderson: a devoted advocate of SLAM! basketball club from its very beginning. Her involvement spans volunteering during practices, games, and camps, as well as managing refreshment provisions and supporting members and staff. Though not a competitive player yet, Jasmene actively supports the U13s and U17 Girls' teams as a mentor and chaperone, ensuring their well-being and safeguarding during games. She manages the SLAM Shop on game days, offering refreshments and respite. She is also embarked on her journey to becoming a fully qualified table official. Jasmene's higher education includes Master's credits in Education, a Qualified Teacher qualification, and an honours degree in Marketing and Media Communications. Outside of basketball, she enjoys various sports, with a special love for dance. Her favourite athlete is Muhammad Ali, whom she admires for his bravery, unwavering principles, and inspirational character—"Very much like Coach Doauine, inspirational."
Coach Noel Hines
U12 Head coach
